“Snow Days: A Retrospective.”

January 24, 2011

Post by Nicholas Steinbrecher

Oh snow days, oh snow days,
You used to bring me overwhelming joy,
And now, I tremble when I hear your name,
Oh snow days, oh snow days.

In my youth, my youth
I would use your time for snowmen,
Forts and snowballs, and hot chocolate
In my youth, my youth

No more, no more
Do I crave for the blinding snow,
Freezing sleet, and gray skies,
No more, no more.

Cautious, be cautious
When driving a 12 foot diesel truck,
Filled with science and fun,
Cautious, be cautious.

It’s closed, closed
But when the snow is too much,
The school has to shut down,
It’s closed, closed.

Rescheduled schedules,
So COSI will come in a warmer time,
And the teaching will continue,
Rescheduled schedules,

Oh snow days, oh snow days.
You make the children miss out on fun.
I only hope they appreciate you now,
Oh snow days, oh snow days
